Our Mission

To protect, to restore, to set free.

CENTRO ANTIVIOLENZA LUNA APS exists to prevent and combat violence against women and children, and to give every survivor the tools to rebuild an independent life.

Our mission is rooted in a simple conviction: every person has the right to live free from fear. Gender-based violence — physical, psychological, sexual, economic and digital — violates that right every day, often behind closed doors. As a registered non-profit association (Tax ID 92024030469) based in Rome, we channel volunteer time, professional skills, community resources and public partnerships into concrete responses for those who need them most.

1. Welcome and listening

We offer a first point of contact that is free, anonymous if requested, and staffed by trained operators. A first conversation helps the woman name what she is living through, assess risk, and understand the options available to her — without pressure and without judgment.

2. Protection and safety

Together with the woman we design a personal safety plan. When necessary we coordinate with social services, hospitals, the 1522 national network, shelters and law enforcement so that protection is fast and coordinated.

3. Legal and psychological support

Through volunteer lawyers and psychologists we provide orientation on civil and criminal proceedings, separation and custody, as well as individual and group psychological support to heal trauma and rebuild self-esteem.

4. Economic autonomy

Freedom requires independence. We support CV writing, job orientation, training courses and connections with employers and local institutions, so that economic dependence is never the reason a woman stays.

5. Prevention and culture

Violence is prevented by changing culture. We bring education on respect, consent and healthy relationships into schools, workplaces and public spaces, and we train professionals to recognise early signs.
